First and foremost, the resurrection of Jesus was proclaimed by His disciples publicly to people who were witnesses and in some cases perpetrators of His crucifixion. Had they not believed it to be true, they would not have dared to proclaim it. And had the other side had the means to disprove it, they would have done so.

Jesus was buried by a member of the Jewish Sanhedrin – Joseph of Arimathea so all in Jerusalem knew where He was buried. If his corpse had been in the tomb, they would have produced it. Today there is consensus among scholars about the empty tomb. What is remarkable also is that no ancient document presents any competing burial story.
